Lilac Christie

MScPT, BSc Kin

I have a BSc in Kinesiology from the U of Waterloo and a BHSc in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. I have much experience ranging from hospital acute care to inpatient extended rehabilitation to long-term care to home care from Florida, Texas, California and now enjoying outpatient rehabilitation here in Calgary. My initial training focussed on ergonomics, biomechanics, and exercise physiology. My interest then gravitated towards Neuromuscular Rehabilitation - stroke rehabilitation in particular - and now my focus is towards musculoskeletal rehabilitation in an outpatient setting.

I love working closely with patients with a client-centered approach knowing that their families and support systems also play an important part in their recovery journey.

Years ago, I was a competitive skydiver with several World Records, US National, and World Championship titles. I also loved to teach First Jump Courses and Progressive Freefall to people so that I could light the fire in their eyes and be able to share the enjoyment of adrenaline with them!

Currently, I enjoy playing ice hockey, figure skating, road and maintain biking, weight lifting, kickboxing, yoga, hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, downhill skiing, and anything that takes me outdoors.

My two teenaged sons - soon-to-be young men - and two Bernedoodles keep me busy most days.  Keeping healthy, fit, and pain-free is my passion in life and I am grateful to be able to share this with others and to be able to help them attain better freedom of movement lifestyle!!
