Ellie

I am a second year kinesiology student at the university of Calgary. I first became interested in the healthcare field as I have competed in many sports throughout my life including basketball, volleyball and lacrosse, so I know just how important a good physio can be for someone’s health, wellness and performance! outside of work and school in the summer you can find me on my boat and spending time with my friends!

Noah

I am currently in my first year in the Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. I grew up playing hockey so exercise and physio were always key components of my life. Through my journey as an athlete, I became passionate about understanding the body to promote health and healing. This led me to become a strength and conditioning coach before starting the physical therapy program. I am passionate about teaching exercise and promoting self-efficacy to help individuals achieve their health goals. I am always happy to talk about hockey (preferably Flames), golf, or any sports!

Mabel

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. I discovered my passion for exercise and physical activity through her participation in team sports, coaching, and experiencing injuries from sports. Currently, I am studying to become an Osteopathic Manual Therapist to better understand the biomechanics of the human body and learn to have a holistic approach. Outside of work, you can find me rock climbing, hiking, and surfing. Between my active adventures, I'm buried in my anatomy and physiology books to learn the art of Osteopathy.

Why Fix?

Why Fix?

Our name represents our commitment to individualizing and revolutionizing the way people think about Physiotherapy. We strive to ‘Fix’ Physiotherapy as a profession, by fixing the traditional approach to one’s healing experience. Unfortunately, many people have experienced Physiotherapy with limited one-on-one time with the therapist, passive modalities, and with exercise handed out in a cookie-cutter fashion. Health care practitioners have a lot to offer, yet, most practitioners are so rushed to get through as many patients as possible that care for each individual patient falters. Our patients deserve better care, and we deserve more time to use our skills to the best of our abilities. Our hope is that by setting the bar high with Fix Physio, and setting patient's expectations higher, that the demand will be for better care. As a result, other clinics will be forced to practice at a higher standard.

At Fix Physio, we live and breathe the idea that one size does not fit all. Each patient is unique and their individual goals take priority when developing their treatment plan. Furthermore, we recognize the value of a multidisciplinary approach, often reaching for referrals to other practitioners within the clinic or whomever else we feel will help support our patients in the most effective way. Each team member brings an important piece to the puzzle of pain. One therapist might be able to ‘fix’ an ankle sprain, while three health professionals might be necessary to help someone with a complex back issue. Our final goal is not to temporarily ‘fix’ someone’s pain; we want to give them the tools for long-term recovery, prevention, and optimal well-being. We strive for people to walk out of our doors with a smile on their face, feeling empowered, and inspired to live their best life.
